Culture & Customs
Turkey is a blend of ancient tradition and modern lifestyle. While you’ll see everything from trendy locals to traditional dress, it’s respectful to cover shoulders and knees when visiting mosques or conservative towns. A light scarf for women is great to have on hand.
Weather in September
September is one of the best months to visit Turkey. The summer crowds have faded, but the weather is still warm and pleasant — ideal for sightseeing, sunset cruises, and hot air balloon mornings. Expect temperatures between 20°C–30°C (68°F–86°F). Pack light breathable clothing, with a jacket for cooler evenings, especially in Cappadocia.
Health
We recommend general travel health prep: stay hydrated, bring your medications, and pack some motion sickness pills if you plan to ride the hot air balloons or boats.
Currency & Payments
The local currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY).
Credit/debit cards are widely accepted, but we advise carrying some cash (in Lira) for small shops, tips, and bazaars; especially in places like Cappadocia.
Travel Insurance
All Gojolley travelers must have valid travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip delays, and baggage issues.
The Jolley Way
We travel with curiosity, joy, and a sense of community. Whether you’re coming solo or with a friend, you’ll be welcomed with open arms. We’re about shared experiences, new cultures, and living life to the fullest together.
