Culture & Customs
Tanzania is a diverse country with deep cultural roots and traditions, especially in Zanzibar, where Islam is the predominant religion.
Respect local customs by dressing modestly, especially when visiting towns, villages, or religious sites. A light scarf or cover-up is always a good idea.

August is one of the best times to visit Zanzibar it is warm, sunny, and dry, perfect for exploring and relaxing. Ensure to pack lightweight clothing.

Currency & Payments
The local currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS).
While cards are accepted in major hotels and restaurants, we recommend carrying cash for local markets and small vendors.
While most of your trip expenses are covered, we recommend bringing $300–$500 USD for personal expenses, souvenirs, tips, and any meals not included in the itinerary.
Be sure to notify your bank of your travel dates to avoid any card blocks.
Internet & Connectivity
Most hotels provide free WiFi, but speeds can vary. For more reliable access throughout the trip, consider buying a local SIM card upon arrival at the airport or using an eSIM service like Airalo if your phone supports it.
